De beroemde en betreurde testrijder Paul Frère was niet bepaald te spreken over het enorme turbogat van de normale versie, en vond de SS geloofwaardiger. Echt goed kan het natuurlijk niet gaan met zo'n (relatief) klein motortje en zo'n vermogen. Heerlijke wagen, dat wel. Het failliete Dauer kon de wagen blijkbaar beter afstellen.
