Ending tonight with some ultra-luxury. I found this 2001 Bentley Arnage Red Label driving on Main Street/NY-117 on 4/18/2019. I really love these old brick luxury cars. It's too bad that a lot of these have since been decommissioned. The problem with luxury cars like these is that once they become too old, they are traded in for the newest model and then they become junk within 10 years because they are too expensive to maintain and depreciation hits the car like a heart attack. It's wasteful and it highlights what's wrong with consumer culture and really what's wrong with cars today. You throw in so much technology into a car that's hot at the time, but ends up making the car practically worthless and it just means more things that can potentially break. I'm glad these people are still driving this around and not getting rid of it for the newest model but they must be diving deep into their wallets to keep this thing on the road. I was talking to an owner at Lime Rock Park who had a Bentley Azure and he told me that every time that car goes in for service, it ends up costing him at least $2500. With the last ultra-luxury car I posted, the Maybach 62 S, a new door for them is something like $15,000 and the worst part is that you can't get parts from a Mercedes dealer anymore. So if somebody dents your door, that's it. The car is toast. Tell me what you think of this in the comments below. License plate: GMU·9245 (NY)

@Rivitography You are absolute right. Even though these Arnages are starting to show their age, they still have an air of luxury around them. It's a real pity you don't see them often anymore. As for this specific car, it looks fantastic in black, only the chrome wheels are a bit too much for me. By the way, were you standing in front of an AMG when you took these photos ?

@Crispijn thank you! It makes me sad that people will just forget about a car once it becomes too old and just ditch it for the newest model. I'll give you an example: there was this Bentley Azure T that one of my friends spotted long ago. Super rare car, only a handful of them built. However, I saw the plate on a Rolls-Royce Dawn during this year's Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. I'm assuming the owner traded it in once it became too expensive to maintain: http://www.flickr.com/photos/philzini/4743241519/in/dateposted/

I've seen that you can find a lot of the older luxury cars in other countries like France and Monaco because they actually care about cars there and will keep them running for as long as possible. I wish it were the same in the United States.

Also, yes I was standing in front of an S 63 AMG W221, another car you don't see much of anymore. I will upload that in the future.
