Stunning!!! Nope, the date is your upload date and that determines when your spot is voted for "Spot of the Day". It works different than ExoticSpotter, if you want to mention when and where you spotted you will have to put it in your comments. So that's why most spotters spread out their good spots so that each spot can "compete" for Spot of the Day...kind of addicting ;)
